Jimmie Johnson won the race last Sunday. Okay, some may say he won the Brickyard 400 sprint race.
To be honest, I listened to majority of the race as my wife and I made our way back to Middle Georgia. I was in Toccoa attending a family reunion. When I discovered that we were going to miss the race, obviously, I was a little upset. But I decided to miss a lot of the race to see my family.
Boy am I glad I did so.
What I got to hear on the radio was frustrating. The most laps of any competition was 12. That's because NASCAR had to continue throwing competition yellows.
Now, did NASCAR do the right thing? I think they had no choice. You don't want to go so long and have somebody blow a tire or something and take out the rest of the field.
In terms of NASCAR there are two big races during the season: the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400. This will be one Brickyard 400 NASCAR and majority of the drivers would love to forget.
But, then again, 10 years from now, when someone looks up information on the 2008 Brickyard 400, nobody will remember how bad the race was unless they read a story about it.

Glad I was on the Road Sunday
